COBLESKILL — Captain Christian Brown Chapter, NSDAR was pleased to award Sharon Springs High School senior Yasmin Issa with a $100 scholarship and certificate for her submission in the Patriots of the American Revolution Essay contest offered to students in grades 9 - 12.  Yasmin’s 1,198 word essay titled, “Living by Democratic Ideals” was judged on historical accuracy, adherence to topic, organization, interest and mechanics.  The three judges found Yasmin’s essay to be historically engaging and accurate, leading to high scores from each.  Yasmin also won first place in the chapter’s Good Citizen Essay contest in 2025.  Congratulations Yasmin!
