DELHI — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced that an investigation into a harassment complaint has resulted in the arrest of a Delhi resident.
On January 13th, 2026, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a report of a harassment which occurred in the Town of Delhi. An investigation into the reported harassment revealed that 76-year-old William Deguisto, of Delhi, NY, allegedly engaged in conduct, which served no legitimate purpose.
On January 22nd, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies submitted a Criminal Summons and an Order of Protection request to the Town of Delhi Court on behalf of the victim. On January 29th, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies received the Criminal Summons and Order of Protection from the Court.
On January 31st, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies located and issued the Criminal Summons and Order of Protection to Deguisto charging him with one count of Harassment in the 2nd Degree, a violation of the New York State Penal Law. Deguisto is to appear in the Town of Delhi Court, at a later date to answer the charge.
