A photo from the clothes closet event that Cindy Buel and Linda Wyckoff did on Saturday

The end of March is approaching ever so fast. Like the Prattsville Scoop says the “Daffy’s” are popping up through the ground. Correspondent Ginny tells me hers are about ready to bloom, while mine here in Flat Creek are just beginning to pop out of the ground. The Crocus are the first to bloom here, however, I have no indication that they too have started showing their green color above the ground. It amazes me how close we all are to other towns and yet the weather can change rather quickly as one travel back and forth locally. A short way down Flat Creek Road from me is what we call the letter “S” turn. Honestly when driving there, you can quickly see around the bend the weather has already changed. It could be raining on one bend, and the sun would be shining on the other bend.

Following worship service at Flat Creek Church everyone enjoyed the luncheon in the church hall. Lots of time for great visits and wonderful fellowship. Next Sunday Palm Sunday service will be the usual time of 10:30am, Easter Sunday service Pastor Paul will be doing one at 8:30am followed by breakfast in the hall at 9:15am and then following that, a 10:30am worship service will be held.

The Clothing Closet at the Gilboa Town Hall was held with several people stopping by to find their free treasures. Everyone got to visit while having coffee and donuts with thanks from Stewarts in Stamford. All the leftover items were boxed up to be given to the DSS to distribute wherever necessary. All in all, it was a successful free event. Many thanks to Linda Wyckoff, and Cindy Buel for their exceptionally hard work with setting up and hosting the event.

Back in Time: Lou and Rosemary DiRubba from Weeki Wachee FL tell me they remember going to Clark’s Restaurant back in the 80’s which was before they moved to Schoharie County.  They would drive up to their camp from Mahopac. They seldom missed stopping at Kenny’s for a meal. Later, living in Conesville, they could count on some great meals and outstanding Prime Rib. All of us can relate so many times we all had great food at Kenny’s place. With his recent passing I know he will not be forgotten as we visit among friends.
