COBLESKILL — After years of sitting vacant and weathering extensive disrepair, the former Best Western on Burgin Drive is preparing to welcome guests once again. The Ramada Inn by Wyndham, located at 121 Burgin Drive, plans to open 60 of its 76 rooms on March 18, according to General Manager Zachary Coonradt.

Coonradt said additional amenities will come online in stages over the next year. The banquet room is expected to be completed in three to four months, the pool in roughly six months, and the kitchen in six to eight months. Bowling facilities are projected to open in about a year.

Reservations are expected to go live next week on the Wyndham website. The hotel is still hiring front desk staff for all shifts; applicants may email a cover letter and résumé to gm@cobleskillhospitality.com.

Cobleskill Village Zoning Officer Mike Piccolo has issued a partial certificate of occupancy, allowing the motel portion of the building to open while the ballroom and bowling areas undergo further work.

The property, which closed around 2018, suffered vandalism and significant deterioration during its years of abandonment. Schoharie County offered incentives to help address back taxes and support the redevelopment effort.

The renovated Ramada Inn will offer both king rooms and double‑bed rooms, with many units connected to accommodate families and larger groups.
