MIDDLEBURGH — Bruce Foley, Mary Coogan, and Cheryl Prashker — three veterans of the folk and Celtic world to perform at Middleburgh Library
Coming together as a trio for the first time, Bruce, Mary, and Cheryl will bring together traditional and contemporary material, weaving rich instrumental textures with driving rhythm and heartfelt vocals. Featuring guitars, tenor banjo, mandolin, Irish pipes, and percussion, their performance will move effortlessly from ancient airs and dance tunes to modern Celtic and American folksongs, creating a delightful blend of music and song.
Mary Coogan and Bruce Foley have each been performing traditional Irish music for over 40 years. Bruce, an acclaimed singer, guitarist, and uilleann piper has toured extensively both as a solo performer and with various bands, including Tommy Sands, Andy M Stewart, and Cherish the Ladies. Mary is a founding member of the acclaimed ensemble Cherish the Ladies, and with the band has helped to bring traditional music to audiences around the world for nearly four decades.
Cheryl Prashker studied classical percussion at McGill University in Montreal, where she was born and raised.
