JOHNSTOWN — Join the “Color Revolution” and admire over 200 beautiful quilts at Empire QuiltFest, Fulton Montgomery Community College, 2805 State Highway 67, Johnstown. Admission is $10, and children under 12 are free.
The show features quilts made by members of 5 local quilt guilds in the Capital Region. New this year will be the Studio Art Quilts Association (SAQA) showcase of regional quilts, with 50 small art quilts.
Quilting vendors will be at the show with an enticing array of quilting supplies for sale—from gorgeous quilting fabrics and handy notions and tools, to state-of-the-art sewing machines and computerized longarm quilting systems. There will be something for every one whether you are an experienced quilter or a beginner. Make a day of it—the college cafeteria will be open until 2, serving lunch and snacks.
Take a break from quilt viewing and shopping at one of the lectures presented at 1:00 on Satur day and Sunday. On Saturday, Sue Beevers will talk about “Color Interactions” and on Sunday Barb Vedder will talk about “Sensational Solid Quilts.” The lectures are $15 each and advance reservations are suggested.
Fulton-Montgomery Community College is located on 195 acres in the foothills of the beautiful Adirondack Mountains between Albany and Utica, NY. The show will be held in the spacious Physical Education Building, and there is ample free parking!
See you at the show!
