SCHOHARIE – Schoharie Economic Enterprise Corp. (SEEC) and Schoharie County Arts will present “Echoes of the Earth,” an exhibition featuring paintings by Connie Mosher and mixed media collage by Kathy Catlin, at the SEEC Art Gallery, located at 287 Main St. in Schoharie.

The show opens with a reception catered by Brimstone Bakery from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, and will be on view through May. The large-scale exhibit will feature work by Mosher and Catlin, as well as artwork by Cobleskill-Richmondville Central School students in Lori Masterson’s class in the upstairs gallery.

Since moving to Schoharie five years ago, Mosher continues to experiment with artistic techniques, appreciating how one creative idea naturally flows to the next. Mosher’s current exhibit highlights her evolving artistic expression.

Catlin draws inspiration from her immediate surroundings in Gallupville – like farmland, creeks and trees – and channels her deep connection with the natural world into her work. Her art explores the intersection of body, mind and spirit with the environment.

The exhibit is part of an ongoing collaborative gallery effort between SEEC and Schoharie County Arts.

SEEC was organized as a nonprofit to foster economic growth and prosperity in

Schoharie County, and its work is supported by a board of directors, full-time staff

and a volunteer advisory council.

The nonprofit Schoharie County Arts promotes cultural and arts-related activities,

advances individual artists and organizations, and contributes to the county’s

cultural and economic growth.

This nonprofit collaboration is shining a light on local artists like Mosher and Catlin by providing

a venue to display their artwork.
