The annual Easter Egg Hunt was held in the town of Windham on a recent breezy and chilly spring morning, drawing swarms of happy kids to C.D. Lane Park. Among those helping to hide 3,000 toy eggs with treats inside were (left to right) Windham town supervisor Thomas Hoyt, town account clerk Jessica Leto, the big rabbit himself (a hoppy friend of Evan Schieren) and visitor Danielle McIntosh.
Maybe next year for 7-month old Adeline Becker, still in a papoose so not quite ready to join in the Easter egg chase on her own, carried by her mom and joined by Lisa Jaeger, president of the Windham Chamber of Commerce, hosts for the annual event. Three golden eggs were included among thousands hidden around C.D. Lane Park, rewarding the finders with festive baskets provided by the Chamber.
Grace Tolmie gets ready to pick up eggs likewise hiding in plain sight. There were 3 separate age categories; 3-and-under, 4 to 8 years old (Grace’s group) and 9-and over, giving everyone an equal opportunity to find Easter treasure including a boy in the background in youthful pursuit.
