DELHI — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Brewster resident for driving while intoxicated.

On Sunday morning, February 15th, 2026, while Sheriff’s Deputies were traveling on Arbor Hill, in the Town of Delhi, they observed a vehicle traveling with one of the vehicle’s headlights not illuminated. Deputies also observed the vehicle cross over the double yellow line. As a result, Deputies conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and interviewed the driver, identified as 19-year-old Brian Salazar of Brewster, NY.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies subsequently arrested and charged Salazar with Driving While Intoxicated, and Driving with a BAC of .08% of 1% or more in blood, both misdemeanors, and No/Insufficient Head Lamps, Failure to Notify DMV of Address Change, and Failure to Keep Right, all violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Following arrest processing, Salazar issued appearance tickets, returnable to the Town of Delhi Court for a later date and was released.
