DWI Arrest in Delhi

DELHI — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Nanuet resident for driving while intoxicated. 

On Saturday night, January 25th, 2026, Deputies were dispatched to a multi-vehicle accident on Sherwood Road in the Town of Delhi. During the course of the investigation, Deputies interviewed the operator of each involved vehicle, thereby discovering that 19-year-old Colin Stemmerman of Nanuet, NY appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. 

Upon conclusion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies subsequently arrested and charged Stemmerman with Aggravated DWI- Blood Alcohol Content .18 or higher and Driving While Intoxicated, both misdemeanors of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Stemmerman was additionally charged with Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Motor Vehicle Accident and No Seat Belt, both violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Upon completion of arrest processing, Stemmerman was issued appearance tickets returnable to the Town of Delhi Court and was released to appear at a later date.
