COLCHESTER — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Patterson, NY resident for driving while intoxicated.
On Sunday night, January 18th, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies, while patrolling on County Highway 26 in the Town of Colchester, observed a vehicle being operated with no front license plate, tinted windows and an obstructed rear license plate. Deputies conducted a traffic stop and identified the driver as 19-year-old Cameron Storms of Patterson, NY.
Upon completion of their investigation, Deputies arrested and charged Storms with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a misdemeanor of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Storms was issued traffic summons for Obstructed Plate, Driver’s View Obstructed, Improper Plates, and Windows/Side wings Non/Transparent, all violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Storms was additionally charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree, a class A misdemeanor of the New York State Penal Law.
Upon completion of arrest processing, Storms was released on an appearance ticket and traffic tickets and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Colchester Court, at a later date to answer the charges.
