WALTON — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of two Walton residents following a traffic stop on November 3rd, 2025.

On Monday night, November 3rd, 2025, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle traveling on Delaware Street in the Village of Walton with no license plate light and also, failing to use a turn signal within 100 feet. Sheriff Deputies made contact with the driver, 56-year-old Paul Petrosky of Walton and the passenger, 36-year-old Sarah Moon-Sapp of Walton. 

Upon completion of the investigation, on January 24th, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Paul Petrosky with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a misdemeanor, and Fail to Use Turn Signal/100FT, No-Inadequate Plate Lamps, No-Inadequate Wind Shield Wipers, and Safety Glass Violation (Windshield), all violations of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law. Petrosky was additionally charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the Second Degree, both class A misdemeanors of the New York State Penal Law. Sheriff Deputies also arrested and charged Moon-Sapp with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree and one count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd Degree, all class A misdemeanors of the New York State Penal Law. Moon-Sapp was additionally issued traffic summons for No Seat Belt, a violation of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.

Upon completion of arrest processing, Petrosky and Moon-Sapp were transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment.
