DELHI – 15 students from Delaware Academy attended the State Leadership Conference of the NYS Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA), held March 19–20 at the Villa Roma Resort in Callicoon. This annual event showcases leadership, service, and outstanding achievement and features workshops, competitions, awards and recognitions.
Delaware Academy 9th grader Maja Margiotta wrapped up her term as NYS First Vice President of the state organization, helping lead the planning and execution of the conference, including interactive activities, workshops and an inspiring keynote from Mount Everest mountain climber John Beede. The event reflected the hard work and dedication of her leadership team. Adding to the excitement, Delaware Academy sophomore Grace Reynolds was officially installed as the NYS Vice President of Competitive Events for the upcoming year, continuing DA’s strong presence in state leadership.

Partnering with Heart of the Catskills and Delhi Pizza Company, they created and distributed flyers featuring adoptable pets with local pizza orders. Their efforts led to 12 of the 24 featured pets being adopted. The project earned them an award in their event and secured an invitation to represent New York State at the National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C. this July.
