SCHOHARIE — Dayzed, a cannabis dispensary owned by two SCS graduates is opening on Saturday.

Jake Davis and Jake Karker are opening Dayzed Cannabis on Saturday, March 14th from 10am to 8pm at 434 Main St. The two are "making history in the Schoharie Valley," said Davis. The community is invited for the opening with free coffee from La Marketa and the ability to purchase “safe, local, tested cannabis.” Next door, YourWayCafe is offering a cross-promotion, where anyone with a Dayzed receipt will receive 10% off their order.

Both Davis and Karker grew up in the area and graduated from Schoharie Central School. Davis was a post-graduate exchange student and Karker was a business and accounting major at college.

Davis said that both of them have “pride in our community” and chose to do business in Schoharie. He said that the two played little league and got ice cream in the same plaza growing.

The two have significant botanical experience before receiving the license in 2022 to become business partners.

They deliberately decided to open the business in Schoharie rather than going to any other location.

The partners produce their own cannabis in house. They have a microlicense through the state Office of Cannabis Management. These are “tested, regulated” products, said Davis.

After growing the “great soil” at Guernsey’s for two years, the company now grows indoors with indoor living soil beds. The two started this process in 2025. This represents the “higher-end” product and the outdoor grow is the “more affordable product.” This is a way to make sure that as many members of the community can consume as possible.

“Small batch quality cannabis” modeled after the microbrewery system.

For customers seeking “quality over quantity.” The plants get additional care and time, said Davis.

Davis said that cannabis should be “grown locally and consumed locally” and that “if you know your grower locally, that’s a good sign.”

Davis said that Dayzed is a "safe" environment with products for all levels of consumers with "knowledgeable staff that will guide you through your experience."

The location will be open from 10am-8pm seven days a week. For more information, reach out to dayzedcanna.com or 518-596-9720.
