DAVENPORT — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Davenport man on sex abuse charges.
On January 17th, 2026, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a sex abuse complaint involving a child. The preliminary investigation revealed that 30-year-old Daniel S.R. Roe of Davenport, NY, was alleged to have subjected a juvenile to sexual contact in May 2024. Roe was also alleged to have subjected another juvenile to inappropriate sexual conversations during the same time frame.
Investigators with the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division conducted multiple forensic interviews at the Delaware County Child Advocacy Center with the victims of the offenses, as well as witnesses.
On January 27th, 2026, Investigators arrested Daniel S.R. Roe on two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and one count of Forcible Touching, class A misdemeanors, and one count of Sexual Abuse in the Third Degree, a class B misdemeanor, all offenses of the New York State Penal Law.
Roe was arraigned at the Delaware County Centralized Arraignment Court where Orders of Protection were issued for the victims. Roe was later released on his own recognizance and was directed to appear at the Town of Davenport Court at a later date to answer the charges.
