CREATE Council on the Arts launches CREATE IN PROCESS

CATSKILL – CREATE Council is pleased to announce CREATE IN PROCESS, a series of ongoing and new gatherings for creatives to connect, share, and learn! 

As CREATE continues to evolve toward a more collaborative, accessible, and community-centered approach, CREATE IN PROCESS aims to foster spaces where creatives can come together to exchange ideas, present works in progress, and actively develop projects with the support and feedback of their peers. These gatherings are open, inclusive, and designed to nurture creativity at every stage of the process. 

To inaugurate these programs, CREATE is proud to partner with Cone Zero, Bridge Street Theatre, and Wave Farm to present three distinct but interconnected meetups: 

Creative Crit 

CREATE x Cone Zero 

All Practice Meetup 


A series of interactive gatherings where creatives can workshop ideas and receive constructive feedback or hands-on help on their project, grant, or concept development. 

When: Last Mondays of the month–next meetup Mon, April 27, 6-7:30pm Where: Cone Zero - Painting Studio, 346 Main St Catskill, NY 12414 

Open Practice + Active Audience 

CREATE x Bridge Street Theatre 

Performing Arts Meetup 


A gathering for performing artists to connect and collaborate through the creative process. Open Practice offers artists the opportunity to perform work on stage with a live audience. Active Audience provides a space to read, play, or present new work and receive audience feedback. Attendance does not require participation—come to meet fellow creatives, musicians, actors, dancers, and performers. 

When: Next meetup Wed, April 22, 6:30-8pm

Soundshare 

CREATE x Wave Farm 

Sound // Audio Meetup 


Soundshare is a quarterly gathering for sound and audio artists to share work and ideas in a welcoming, communal setting. Each session features up to four participants presenting live or pre-recorded works, followed by group discussion. 

With a potluck-style format, Soundshare encourages attendees to bring food, engage in conversation, and build connections within the regional sound arts community. All are welcome to attend; however, RSVP is required. 

When: Quarterly–next meetup Tue, June 20, 6-8pm

ABOUT CREATE 

CREATE Council on the Arts is a nonprofit arts service organization providing essential services to artists, arts organizations, cultural and educational institutions, civic groups, community agencies and the general public. We serve Greene, Columbia & Schoharie Counties in the upper Hudson Valley of New York State. 


As the regional arts council, our primary role is to support individual artists and small to mid-sized arts organizations with funding opportunities, advocacy and by serving as a vital connector across the creative community.
