DELHI - Delaware County District Shawn J. Smith announced that Christopher Reynolds, 33, of Hancock, NY pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a Class D Violent Felony.
Reynolds appeared in Delaware County Court in front of the Honorable John L. Hubbard on March 10, 2026. After being arraigned on his charges, the defendant pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree. Prior to pleading guilty, the defendant admitted that he possessed a semi-automatic assault weapon, which contained a pistol grip. The case stems from a New York State Police investigation which revealed that the defendant unintentionally discharged a firearm while inside his home, causing injury to a child, on August 27, 2025. The child was transported to the hospital by ambulance and later released after undergoing treatment.
After pleading guilty the case was adjourned for sentencing.
