As spring settles in and the days grow warmer, the town comes alive with the energy of local festivals, family events, and celebrations that highlight everything residents love about small‑town life. This weekend is no exception — Cobleskill is buzzing with activity, offering something special for every age and interest.

Fisheries & Wildlife Festival – Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m.–3 p.m., Center Park

Center Park will be the hub of outdoor excitement as the Fisheries Wildlife Festival returns with a full slate of hands‑on activities. Families can enjoy live Birds of Prey demonstrations, a Youth Fishing Derby hosted by SUNY Cobleskill fish clubs, birdhouse painting, a Rubber Ducky Race sponsored by Ducks Unlimited, wildlife identification stations, face painting, local vendors, food trucks, and a community bake sale.

Taste the Future: A Culinary Canvas – Monday, April 27, 5–7:30 p.m., SUNY Cobleskill

SUNY Cobleskill invites the public to “Taste the Future” at Upper Champlin, where Culinary Arts faculty and students will present an impressive lineup of small plates and desserts. The menu features Jerk Chicken, Chicken Roulade, Pork Schnitzel, BBQ Pulled Pork, Pernil Asado con Tostones, and more. All proceeds support the Culinary Arts Program.

Cold Springs Farm Opening Day – Friday, April 24

Cold Springs Farm, owned and operated by the Prezorski family, celebrates its Opening Day on Friday. This first‑generation farm spans 28 acres of vegetables and 80 acres of field crops, and the family welcomes visitors to explore the grounds and peek inside the greenhouse as the growing season begins.

Cobleskill‑Richmondville FFA Farm Fest – Saturday, May 2, 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

The Cobleskill‑Richmondville FFA invites the community to its annual CR FFA Farm Fest at CRCS High School, 1353 Route 10 in Richmondville.

Families can enjoy a petting zoo, FFA plant sale, family photo booth, touch‑a‑tractor, and basket raffles sponsored by the CR Friends of FFA. A Chicken BBQ will also be available.

Schoharie County Animal Shelter Birthday Celebration – Saturday, April 25

The Schoharie County Animal Shelter will host a heartwarming celebration for “Little Boy,” the beloved Museum Cat, who is turning 15. The event, held at the Iroquois Museum, includes children’s activities, homemade birthday cake, raffles, and adoptable kittens. Admission to the museum is free for the celebration.

And Don’t Forget… The Maple Festival

Rounding out the weekend is the always‑popular Maple Festival, offering sweet treats and maple‑themed fun for all ages.
