STAMFORD – presents an intimate evening of songs and stories with acclaimed singer-songwriter Chris Pierce on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Headwaters Arts Center, 66 Main Street Stamford.  Tickets and information available at roxburyartsgroup.org.

"Chris Pierce's music is emotionally palpable—you feel it in the room," said Patrick Barnes. “His artistry creates genuine connection across generations and musical backgrounds. That's what makes an intimate performance like this so powerful."

Chris Pierce’s music, rooted in folk, blues, and Americana, has earned widespread critical acclaim from NPR, Rolling Stone, Forbes, American Songwriter, and No Depression. His album American Silence was named #1 Best Folk Album of 2021 by PopMatters, while his song "Residential School" was recognized by Folk Alley as one of the 100 Essential Folk Songs. Chris is sure to preview some songs from his soon to be released new album, Songs for the Heavy Hearted.

Pierce gained global attention when Neil Young personally selected him as the special guest opener on Young's Coastal Tour. His co-written song "We Can Always Come Back to This" was featured in three episodes of NBC's This Is Us and later reached #1 on the Billboard Blues Chart. Over decades of touring, Pierce has performed alongside legends including B.B. King, Al Green, Steve Earle, Seal, Aaron Neville, Jill Scott, and the Blind Boys of Alabama.

His live performances are known for their emotional depth and rare intimacy. Recent highlights include contributing "Southern Man" to Heart of Gold, a Neil Young tribute album featuring Eddie Vedder, Brandi Carlile, Fiona Apple, and Steve Earle; a Playing for Change duet with Sara Bareilles; and sold-out concerts alongside Allison Russell. He has performed at Newport Folk Festival, AmericanaFest, Folk Alliance, MerleFest, and appeared on NPR's World Café and Mountain Stage.

The intimate house-style concert at Headwaters Arts Center is the perfect way to experience an artist like Chris Pierce. Folding chairs will be available, though attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs or blankets for the floor, creating a casual, communal atmosphere.
