ESPERANCE — Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Schoharie County is entering the final stretch of its month-long partnership with the Hannaford Community Bag Program, an initiative designed to turn local grocery trips into community support.
The program, which runs through the end of March, designates CCE Schoharie as the beneficiary of reusable bag sales at the Hannaford supermarket located at 11140 Western Turnpike in Esperance.
For every $2.50 blue Hannaford Community Bag purchased at this specific location, $1 is donated directly to the local Extension. With two weeks remaining in the campaign, organizers are encouraging residents to prioritize sustainability while supporting local programming.
"This is a wonderful opportunity to raise funds for our organization and to spark positive change in our community," CCE Schoharie said in a statement. "Every bag counts, and we want to maximize this opportunity to make a lasting difference."
The funds generated through the program support CCE's mission to provide research-based resources and educational programs to the residents of Schoharie County. Residents are encouraged to share the news with friends and family to help reach the organization's fundraising goals before the month concludes.
