SCHOHARIE — Freshman Ty Gunzinger delivered a dominant performance on the mound and at the plate Monday, leading the Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs to a 6-0 shutout victory over the Schoharie Storm.

Gunzinger earned the win with six masterful innings, surrendering only one hit while striking out six and walking one. He was equally effective on offense, going 2-for-4 with an RBI. Junior Landon Huslander closed out the seventh inning to complete the two-hit shutout.

The Bulldogs' offense provided consistent pressure, totaling 12 hits throughout the contest. Senior shortstop Matt Gunzinger anchored the middle of the order, going 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two sacrifice flies. Senior Simon O'Neil and senior Elijah Barr both contributed triples to the offensive effort, with O'Neil scoring twice and stealing a base.

Additional offensive highlights for the Bulldogs included:

Landon Huslander (Junior): Finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base.

Devin Covey (Sophomore): Recorded two hits, including a double, and drove in one run.

Alex Hertzler (Junior): Went 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Aiden Carr (Senior): Tallied a hit and was hit by a pitch.

Schoharie struggled to find offensive rhythm against the Bulldogs' pitching. L. Stevens and C. Condon recorded the only hits for the Storm. Despite drawing two walks, Schoharie was unable to sustain a rally, stranding only two runners on base during the game.

Defensively, the Bulldogs remained sharp, with only one error recorded in the field. Schoharie starter G. Plank took the loss, pitching four innings and allowing three runs.
