ST. JOHNSVILLE — The Cobleskill-Richmondville Bulldogs continued their mid-season surge on Wednesday, defeating the Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville Wolves 13-3 in a high-scoring non-league matchup. The Bulldogs’ offense combined for 13 hits, including four extra-base hits, to secure the victory.

Senior designated hitter Elijah Barr led the charge for Cobleskill-Richmondville, finishing a perfect 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and three runs scored. Senior second baseman Simon O'Neil also delivered a standout performance, recording two hits, including a triple, while scoring three times and driving in a run.

Junior Landon Huslander anchored the middle of the order, going 3-for-4 with a double and a game-high three RBIs. Senior shortstop Matt Gunzinger added two hits and two RBIs, while senior outfielder Aiden Joslin contributed a double and an RBI in the winning effort.

On the mound, senior Aiden Carr earned the win, pitching five innings and striking out five Wolves while allowing three runs. Landon Huslander provided two innings of perfect relief, striking out three to close out the contest.

The Bulldogs established control early, plating three runs in each of the first three innings to build a 9-0 lead. Oppenheim-Ephratah-St. Johnsville attempted a rally in the bottom of the third, scoring all three of their runs highlighted by an RBI double from R. Rumrill, but were unable to sustain the momentum against the Bulldogs' pitching staff.

Several other Bulldogs contributed to the offensive production:

Alex Hertzler (Junior): Reached base four times with a hit, two walks, and a hit-by-pitch, scoring twice.

Devin Covey (Sophomore): Drove in a run and recorded a stolen base.

Ty Gunzinger (Freshman): Recorded an RBI on a sacrifice fly.

Cayden Cernauskas (Junior): Scored a run and stole a base.

Cobleskill-Richmondville’s disciplined approach at the plate resulted in six walks and three sacrifice flies, keeping the pressure on the Wolves' defense throughout the afternoon. The victory marks another step forward for the Bulldogs as they head into the final stretch of the spring season.
