COBLESKILL — A potent offensive performance by Canajoharie-Fort Plain (CFP) proved too much for Cobleskill-Richmondville on Friday, as the visitors secured a 10-4 victory fueled by 14 hits.
The CFP attack was spearheaded by D. Suits, who finished 3-for-4 with a home run. L. McDuffee was equally impressive at the plate and in the circle, going 4-for-5 with three runs scored while pitching a complete seven-inning game. McDuffee struck out nine Bulldogs and allowed only one walk to earn the win. J. Gomez added to the offensive barrage with a 3-for-5 performance.
Cobleskill-Richmondville struggled defensively, committing four errors that hampered their efforts to keep pace. Despite the loss, the Bulldogs tallied 10 hits of their own. D. Palmer led the home team's offense, going 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. R. Briggs also contributed two hits, including a double.
The Bulldogs utilized a three-pitcher rotation during the contest. A. Prezorski started the game, pitching five innings and striking out four while allowing eight hits and four runs. D. Palmer and K. Panarese each provided an inning of relief, with Panarese recording two strikeouts in the final frame.
Canajoharie-Fort Plain established a lead with a four-run third inning and pulled away late with six additional runs over the final two frames. Cobleskill-Richmondville attempted a rally in the bottom of the seventh, plating four runs, but the deficit proved too large to overcome.
