COLCHESTER — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Bronx resident for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop.
On Saturday night, April 11th, Sheriff’s Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which failed to stop at a stop sign in the Town of Colchester. Deputies made contact with the driver, who was identified as 28-year-old Eddie Escoto JR of the Bronx.
Upon completion of the investigation, Deputies arrested and charged Escoto with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs/Alcohol Combination, Aggravated Unlicensed Operator in the 3rd Degree, both misdemeanors of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law, as well as Unlicensed Operator, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Consumption of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, Drivers View Obstructed, Operating without Insurance, Side Wings Nontransparent and Front Windshield Nontransparent, all violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. Escoto was additionally charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the 4th Degree, a class A misdemeanor of the NYS Penal Law.
Upon completion of arrest processing, Escoto was released on appearance tickets and uniform traffic tickets, returnable to the Town of Colchester Court at a later date.
