“Money” Mat Williamson in victory lane after winning the 61-lap Super DIRTcar Series race at Albany-Saratoga Speedway last Friday.
This evening, Albany-Saratoga Speedway has a modified division feature paying $3,000. The 358 modified division has a DiCarlo's Auto Body modified shootout; also on the program are crate 602 sportsman, pro stock, and 4-cylinder divisions.
Utica-Rome Speedway has a double header this weekend as their point season begins tonight for their weekly divisions: DIRTcar 358 modified, crate 602 sportsman, pro stock, and limited sportsman. Pits open at 4:00 pm, grandstand at 5:00 pm, hot laps at 6:15 pm, and racing at 7:00 pm. Then Sunday is the second annual Jim Normoyle Memorial for the DIRTcar pro stock division, joined by the DIRTcar big block modified division and limited sportsman division. Currently, the Normoyle purse sits at $14,000 and added bonus money is over $3,500. Pit gates open at 2:00 pm, grandstand at 3:00 pm, hot laps at 3:00 pm, and racing at 5:00 pm.
Devil's Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vermont does have an open practice tonight. Pit gates open at 4:00 pm; grandstand opens and practice starts at 6:00 pm until approximately 9:00 pm.
On Saturday, Fonda Speedway has a regular program with all weekly divisions: Amsterdam Truck Center modified, Swagger Factory Apparel crate 602 sportsman, Leatherstocking Credit Union pro stock, Montgomery County Office for Aging limited sportsman, and Fonda Fair 4-cylinder.
Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, Vermont is celebrating their 60th anniversary with the DIRTcar 358 modified series 60-lap, $5,000 to win King of the Clay. Also on the card is a sportsman modified 20-lap shootout paying $1,000, limited sportsman, novice sportsman, 500 cc mini sprints, and mini stocks. Pit gates open at 1:00 pm, grandstand at 3:30 pm, hot laps at 4:00 pm, and racing at 5:00 pm. Devil's Bowl announced this week that as part of their 60th anniversary celebration, former NASCAR driver Kenny Wallace will be at the track on Saturday, August 22nd.
On Sunday, Glen Ridge Motorsports Park will hold an open practice for all divisions from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Pit gates open at 11:00 am and the grandstand opens at 12:00 pm.
Airborne Park Speedway in Plattsburgh opens with the Leon Gonyo Memorial 40-lap feature for the DIRTcar 358 modified division. Also on the program are the sportsman division in a 30-lap $1,500 to win feature, plus the limited sportsman, renegades, mini stocks, and Crown Vics. Pits open at 12:00 pm, grandstand at 2:30 pm, hot laps at 3:00 pm, and racing at 4:00 pm.

Results from Friday night at "The Great Race Place," Albany-Saratoga Speedway: they opened with the Super DIRTcar Series big block modifieds. As part of the opening ceremonies, the staff and fans paid tribute in honoring promoter Lyle DeVore who, unfortunately, passed away in December after a many-year battle with cancer. The Route 9, Malta facility opened with a full grandstand and packed pit area. Drivers and fans were presented with a smooth racing surface. Six heat races were held for the Super DIRTcar Series big block modified division.
Matt Delorenzo would draw the pole position for the 61-lap feature, with "Money" Mat Williamson sharing the front row. Delorenzo took off at the start and held the lead for much of the race. Unfortunately for the local favorite, Williamson was able to track him down and set Delorenzo up to make the pass. Delorenzo never gave up and continued to stay within striking distance throughout the night, making his best gain coming out of turn two and down the backstretch into turn three. However, Williamson would pull away as they exited turn four and shot down the front straightaway. Williamson would earn the victory, with Delorenzo second and Stewart Friesen third.
In the crate 602 sportsman division 25-lap feature, Joey Scarborough scored the win over Chris Crane Jr. and Craig Wholey. The sportsman feature was also the first of six Capital District Racing Association (CDRA) events for 2026. In the pro stock division 25-lap feature, Kim Duell claimed the victory over his son Scott Duell and Kyle Hoard.
Utica-Rome Speedway opened with a 30-lap 358 modified division feature. Matt Janczak earned that race over Tim Fuller and Payton Talbot. In the 20-lap pro stock division feature, A.J. Walters took the win over Shane Playford and Slater Baker. The 25-lap crate 602 sportsman division feature was won by Matt Guererri over Shawn Frost and Tyler Corcoran. The limited sportsman division feature was won by Lance Hill over James Galarneau and Matt Bukovan.
At Outlaw Speedway in Dundee, the 30-lap modified division feature was won by Danny Johnson, with Michael Maresca fourth and Bobby Varin 17th.
Fonda Speedway had 29 Amsterdam Truck Center modifieds sign in to take part in the Jumpin’ Jack Johnson 12A opening day. For the 100th time, Stewart Friesen claimed victory at the Track of Champions and thus now has sole possession of third place on the all-time winners list, behind Jack Johnson and Lou Lazzaro. Jack Lehner led early in the feature but lost the power steering in his Bloomfield's Florist number 85 and had to settle for second, and Robert Bublak was third.
Lehner and the Nelson Racing/Bloomfield’s Florist team had a hectic couple of weeks as they learned that their engine was still not ready at the builders, being refreshed for the 2026 racing season. After weeks of chasing leads, they located an engine and scrambled to get everything in and running. They noticed carburetor issues before racetime and he lost his power steering around lap 10 in the feature.
The Swagger Factory Apparel crate 602 sportsman division feature was won by Tyler Bobar over Garrett Chillot and Tyler Peet. The Leatherstocking Credit Union pro stock division feature was won by Nick Stone ahead of Beau Ballard and Kenny Gates. The Montgomery County Office for Aging Inc. limited sportsman division feature saw Chayton Young score the victory over John West and Brian Nelson. The Fonda Fair 4-cylinder feature saw Josh Reome (dual cam) and Dave Reedy (single cam) as division winners.
Lebanon Valley Speedway had the DIRTcar 358 modified Series competing in a 50-lap $5,000 to win feature. Andy Bachetti took that win over Chris Raabe and Mike Mahaney. In the crate 602 sportsman division, Tim Hartman Jr. went back-to-back in winning the 30-lap DIRTcar feature, this one being a Series event.
