DELHI — Janet Tweed, a Delhi village trustee and candidate for NYS Assembly District 102, announced today that, as of March 15, her campaign has raised over $78,000, including private donations and anticipated matching funds from New York’s Public Campaign Finance Board.
“I’m grateful and humbled by the support I’ve received from so many people across the 102nd district,” Tweed said. “There is a real hunger for leaders who have lived and worked in this district and understand the challenges around increasing electricity costs, healthcare accessibility, supporting sustainable infrastructure, and more. We do not need or want another career politician like Marc Molinaro who has spent his entire adult life in politics.”
Tweed’s platform includes an emphasis on improving affordability and accessibility, especially in healthcare. Her goals include expanding free, school-based healthcare, incentivizing providers to serve in rural areas through tuition reimbursement programs, and passing the New York Health Act (a single-payer, universal healthcare program similar to “Medicare for All,” but at a state level). She also advocates for addressing rising energy bills by reining in outrageous CEO pay to foreign-owned NYSEG, more carefully regulating energy-intensive AI data centers, and thoughtfully expanding renewable energy infrastructure in New York so that our energy prices will not be held hostage by global political shocks like the current war in Iran.
The New York State Campaign Financing Program was designed to reduce the influence of dark money in state-level elections by enabling candidates who show sufficient grassroots support to access matching public funds. Donations from in-district voters up to $250 are matched by the state, on average, 10:1. Since announcing her campaign in late 2025, Tweed has raised over $8,500 from private donors. With the projected state match, Tweed anticipates having $78,000 on hand to fund her campaign. She has never accepted any donations from corporate PACs. Transparency is a core tenet of the public campaign financing program. Residents can view candidate disclosures here: https://publicreporting.elections.ny.gov/
