RICHMONDVILLE — On March 18, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Chad A. Chichester, 42, of Charleston on an Arrest Warrant out of the Town of Richmondville Court following a short vehicle pursuit and subsequent investigation into the incident.
On January 19, 2026, Deputies attempted to initiate a traffic stop of the vehicle Chichester was operating after it was observed driving on the wrong side of the road as it proceeded through a four-way stop intersection, nearly striking other motorists. Instead of pulling over for the Deputy, the vehicle operator continued operating recklessly and in excess of the speed limit. The Deputy terminated the pursuit very quickly.
Following the incident, an investigation was conducted which resulted in the identification of Chichester as the vehicle operator and a warrant was issued out of the Town of Richmondville Court for Chichester for the misdemeanors of Reckless Driving, Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 3rd Degree. He was arraigned before the Schoharie County CAP Court and released to appear before the Town of Richmondville Court at a later date.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
