Arrest After Alleged Hamden Larceny

HAMDEN — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Middle Island resident following an investigation of a larceny complaint.

On Sunday, March 22nd, 2026, Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a larceny complaint in the Town of Hamden. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation of the complaint, it was discovered that 30-year-old Nicholas Kahl of Middle Island had stolen a tractor from a property without the owner’s consent. 

Upon completion of the investigation, Sheriff’s Deputies arrested and charged Kahn with one count of Grand Larceny in the 4th degree, a class E felony of the New York State Penal Law.

Upon completion of arrest processing, Kahl was transported to the Delaware County Correctional Facility to await Centralized Arraignment Court.
