It’s so cold; even the sun looks chilly. It’s so cold; even my phone’s weather app froze. LOL
The ground hog Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow so predicts six more weeks of winter, what da ya know.
In general I like winter, but this extended really cold spell is getting annoying. I hear we’re going to have a heat wave of temps in the low 20’s.
One of the birds that come here to feed is a junco and for some reason the junco’s hang out on the pickup truck plow and there’s no food there. I saw a male cardinal for the first time in years, but it doesn’t stay long.
There is currently quite a bit of ice on Panther Creek which reminded Brian Goodfellow, of West Fulton, about photos he had of an ice jam that even crested the bank February 14, 2019. Photos are of the West Fulton town green. He remembers when he was a kid ice jams cut loose sometimes and sounded a bit like a freight train but always stayed within the banks.

December 12, 1912 Jefferson Courier- Summit. Skating is being indulged in by the young people. - Earle Spaulding has accepted a position at Schenectady. - Chas. Clark has purchased a piano and placed it in his home. Miss Irene Coons spent Sunday with her friend, Miss Eileen Crowe. -Mr. Echolt, the new minister, is boarding with Mrs. Geo. Skidmore. - T. O. Burnett and wife returned home last week after spending a couple weeks in the metropolis. - Dr. Lipes of Cobleskill was in town last week and assisted Dr. Wharton in an insanity examination of Mrs. Walter Dingman. - Mr. Bohne Echolt preached his initial sermon Sunday night in the M. E. church. A large congregation greeted him and profited by his address. Mr. Olof Boughton assisted the choir on the violin and we understand he will continue to do so hereafter.
