Summit neighbors road cleanup.
Doing some spring cleaning yard work: picking up branches on the lawn, filling divots left by the plow, got the hose out, washed the car, raking, getting the lawn mower ready, washing windows, leaf blowing etc.
Daffodils are starting to bloom and day lilies and peonies are sprouting. Then the inch of snow, hope they all survive.
Dare I say no May flies yet; ut-oh I think I saw a few. But the Sunday snow drove them away.
I went to Charlotteville the other day on one of those on and off rainy days to get some cold cuts at the General Store and clean a couple of veterans gravestones. I checked the weather report before I left and it was soon to be sunny. When I started the 7mile journey it was partly sunny and half way there it poured then cleared then ½ hour later poured again but only in Charlotteville; crazy.
Thank you to the Summit Neighbors group who cleaned up along Rte 10 April 18. Photo from Jen Stinson.

History
May 16, 1901 Jefferson Courier – Charlotteville - Amos Lape, who is employed at Cobleskill, was seen on our streets Saturday. - Wednesday May 9th brought to T. S. Lape and wife a new and bright little girl boarder. - There is some talk of organizing a lodge of Maccabees in this place. We hope it will be a success. - L. M. Stevens was down to the village of Cobleskill. He enjoyed himself going down. Ask him about it. - It looks now as if we would have a good hay crop. Stock can get pretty good pasturage now and some have turned out.
