February has shown us some warm days. The dogs enjoyed running around in the sun on our homestead. Hardy, our puppy, got the zoomies running and kicking up the snow. The days are getting a little longer as Spring approaches.
With the warmer weather brings the loss of the snowmobile trails. That being said, a vehicle was stuck on the trail, at the Old Bates farm. It is no longer there. My house has been riding the trails. Sunday Dalton and Jeremy rode to Lombardos to have their pizza and head back home. Jeremy did not make it, his sled died at a friend's house, Thank You Tony, for driving him home. The next day Dalton went to ride and the sled died right before our home. This bad energy needs to leave lol.

We have been brainstorming as a committee and a community. The Seward Farmers Market would like to come back in the Spring, Summer, and Fall of 2026. I had some amazing grants sent to me. I was able to sit down with Rose Chase and Meg Parsons to explore avenues and options. Thank you both for your time, effort and education. I am relaying the information back to our committee. If you would be interested in helping better this market, please feel free to reach out to me.
Business Spotlight for this week is owned and operated by Marie Schaefer. Many of you may remember this amazing lady from Canine Cosmatition. Marie has retired and is doing what she loves, crafts! She told me that she has always done crafts, made wreaths for her own personal use and as gifts for family and friends. She has been attending craft show events for about 10 years. Her "hobby" has become an enjoyable sideline business. She make seasonal wreaths, wall hangings, center pieces , she makes table runners, placemats . Grandma's Garden can help you with a special gift!
As I close this week, I would just like to remind you to not get through the winter, but try to enjoy it. Winter brings slow time for many, not all. I know in my house it uis when we can be with Jeremy more. His job pulls him away so much in the Spring, Summer, and Fall. As much as I am a summer person. I am thankful for winter. We can slow down as a family and be together. See you next week!
