My husband and I just got back from our first ever stay away from the kids. We had the opportunity to go to Connecticut to see the Turnpike Troubadours! We got the tickets, booked the hotel, and spent some time together. It was amazing. We ate at Mytic Pizza, where they filmed the movie, walked in the small shops, and got ready for the show. He loves the band and I love him, so it all worked out. I am thankful for him and the opportunity we were given to get away, even if for only 24 hours. Our boys took care of the farm and themselves, I am so proud of them.
I would like to send you a warm welcome back and give you some information on a great organization. I try to spotlight a local business, but this week I would like to take about a group of se great nurses. I am honored to call one of them my friend, Elisabeth Tissiere. I reached out to Mrs. Tissiere to ask if I could showcase The Nurses Honor Gaurd, she welcomed the opportunity. Next are words straight from this amazing woman:
Nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare and Valentine’s Day is a perfect time to find out more about a group that honors them. The Otsego-Schoharie-Delaware Nurses Honor Guard is a volunteer organization that performs tributes for nurses in end-of-life care and at their final services. In an Honor the Living Tribute, the Honor Guard visits the nurse and their caregivers, providing them with a rose, a quilt, and a certificate that shows appreciation for their devotion to nursing while they are still able to receive thanks from colleagues. After a nurse passes, the Honor Guard attends the final services for a nurse with special readings that recognize the sacrifices of the nurse and their family and lives of service, presenting a white rose to symbolize the purity of the mission of the nurse and a Nightingale lamp that represents the light of knowledge and courage of nurses. All services are provided free of charge at the request of families who want to honor the lives and careers of their loved one. To honor a nurse you love, to join them in doing this work, or to support their mission, please send them an email at otsegoschohariedelawarenhg@gmail.com<mailto:otsegoschohariedelawarenhg@gmail.com>, call 518-231-0580, or check them out on the web at www.nysnurseshonorguard.org/osdnhg-chapter.
