What a thrill it was to watch the Astronauts splash down last Friday after their ten day trip around the back of the moon. All is good health. I am sure our prayers throughout their journey certainly paid off

Here in Flat Creek this Monday morning the temperature is sixty-five degrees and climbing. A few sprinkles here and there. A nice day to be working outside. Around 11:00am oh my! Suddenly, the wind is whipping up at a gale force. The temperature is seventy-two degrees.  I quickly changed my mind about working outside. The Goldfinches have surrounded the birdfeeder. Their bright yellow color is amazing.

I was ever so happy on Sunday morning at Flat Creek Church when in walked my dear long-time friends Ann and Steve Majoris. I still think of Ann as an O’Hara gal. She has a beauty parlor in Prattsville. Pastor Paul had a wonderful message. It was also nice to have Kim Weidner there with her mom Floradel Hubbard. Kim will be our speaker for our Women’s Conference on May 16, 10:00am starting with coffee and muffins then lunch during a break at Flat Creek Baptist Church. Last year we had over sixty women in attendance. This is a non-denomination conference.  All are welcome to attend. All you need to do is make a reservation by May 9 to Laureen at 607-651-4208 or e-mail her at ljlawrence607652@gmail. com.

Neighbor Norma Coney tells me the Animal Shelter of Schoharie County Jewelry Sale was held on Friday and Saturday this past week at St. Vincent de Pau8l Parish in Cobleskill.  The great weather brought out what seemed to be record crowds. By 11am there was a substantial line of shoppers waiting for the opening at 12pm. Both days were extremely busy. Higher quality items were especially enjoyed by the shoppers as there was the $1 table with so much more. The sale features new, vintage and pre-owned costume jewelry. Norma tells me of course donations of jewelry are welcome year-round and can be dropped off at the shelter during their open hours. It is a great fund raiser for the shelter.

The Gilboa Town Board members met at 5:00pm in the town hall before the regular board meeting on Monday evening. The town board members received their cyber security training. The regular meeting began at 6:30pm.
