Easter Sunday was a little rainy and chilly. It did not stop people from coming out for the 8:30am service at Flat Creek Church. Following that service a breakfast was held in the church hall. Then at 10:30am Pastor Paul once again preached from the pulpit to all in attendance.
After the service, I spent my Easter having dinner with daughters Diane, Debbie along with Chuck at Diane's home Sunday afternoon. Debbie drove up from Binghamton. She told us part of I-88 was still closed with a detour through Unadilla. She said she had not been through that town in quite a while She was amazed at the beautiful homes along the way. She had no problem while driving back home as the detour was only on one side of I-88. Diane did a great job with a delicious ham dinner. Arriving home I checked my e-mails on the computer only to receive sad news from NYPA Retiree Faye Swing letting me know that. Retiree Bill Hynes, passed away on March 20. Bill worked in the B/G Real Estate Division for forty years. Condolences to his family. Calling hours and prayer time was held on Tuesday, April 7 at Langan Funeral Home in Schoharie. I and several other NYPA Retirees were in attendance for this special man and co-worker. Upon heading out of the house there was at least two inches of snow on the ground. The plow had gone by so the road was wet but clear. It was 37 degrees as I drove up Flat Creek Road. Then as I made my turn off Keyserkill road heading towards Middleburgh, a whiteout hit. The temperature dropped to 30 degrees. It was still snowing and blowing when I arrived for my Drs. appointment. Coming out of there and heading to Schoharie for the visitation it finally stopped snowing and the temperature rose to 33degrees. No problem all the way home except for the wind blowing a gale.
Neighbors Alison and Tony Emmerich simply enjoyed having a super week with family. Their son Mark arrived last Wednesday with his two girls as they were on school vacation. Then his wife and son arrived for the weekend. Everyone enjoyed a ham dinner including asparagus and so much more for Easter. The girls enjoyed dyeing eggs during the week. Then they hunted for them on Easter Sunday morning. During all that, five-year-old granddaughter Samantha told Alison she wants to be an Easter Bunny when she grows up. Son Mark is quite the chef, so I am positive knowing that dinner had to be outstanding.
Bill and Alicia Terry hosted Easter Dinner at their home. Among those in attendance were her sisters Polly and Heidi along with Heidi’s hubby David and their sons Thomas and Jonathan.

Monday morning, I woke up to see a dust of snow on the ground. The wind was blowing while the temperature was only thirty degrees. Another chilly day. I noticed though, the maple tree out front, the crab tree and the lilacs are beginning to bud. All signs of warmer days. My lake is full to the edge of the bank all around it. The seven geese that arrived a couple of weeks ago are having a ball swimming and diving into the water only to see while tails wiggling above the water as they try to find something to eat. Then once again it is their morning and evening flights over the house with their constant sounds filling the air.
