CATSKILL — Well, it's almost Valentine's Day, again. Valentine's Day is one of those holidays many people call a "Hallmark Holiday" , they will grumpily say "it's just made up to sell cards and candy". I personally love all holidays, I think they are a great invention, and a great way to break up the year. I try to celebrate as many of them as I can, even if they do not happen to be something I believe in.
Some people might say, "But LJ, you are single! Isn't Valentine's Day depressing for you?" I tell them "absolutely not". I get cards and candy still, and I go out and meet very cool people. I love the idea of love! I have had some amazing Women in my lifetime, and I have been in love more than once. So why wouldn't I enjoy celebrating a day dedicated to the idea of love, and finding love?
As a single man this year, I will be DJing a Valentines Day Party at "The Eliot" in Catskill on Friday night, 7pm to 9pm, (come on by, its going to be epic) I will be helping others to enjoy themselves and I will be enjoying myself, in the company of others.
On Saturday "Valentines Day" I will be out enjoying myself, with the hope of finding true love. I am always open to the idea. I still have the hope that I will get to have that moment, one more time in this lifetime. The moment where you see that person "walk through the door, and that lightning bolt hits you" and you suddenly know why you waited, and stayed single all that time. I know she is out there. If you are single as well, then you should have faith they are out there waiting for you. You definitely won't find them at home, crying in your soup!
I get asked often, if I ever get lonely. I always say of course I do. There are times I miss coming home and having someone to share stories of my day with. I however have never come home and been upset, there was no one there to complain because "I left a dish in the sink"! (Whats up with Women getting so mad about a dish in the sink?)
Life is short and I truly believe it is better to be alone, then with the wrong person. When "they" show up, it will make all the waiting worth it. You too should have faith, love is not a once in a lifetime thing. Love is plentiful, and it is out there just waiting for all of us. So this year go out somewhere, and take a peak, and see if the next great love of your life is there waiting for you.
If you are in the Greene County area looking for something awesome to do, either alone or with someone else, The Blackthorne Resort is having a dinner and a show on Valentine's Day, the show is an "Elvis" tribute act. Sounds like an interesting story to tell people where you first met!
So in conclusion, get up and go out this Saturday on Valentine's Day, do something fun and take a chance. Your soul mate will Thank You.
Till Next Time, I am Your Bro LJ James and I will see you Around the Mountain.
