Anderson to Retire from SCS

SCHOHARIE - Long-time elementary school teacher Nancy Anderson will be retiring at the end of the school year.

Schoharie school board members accepted Ms. Anderson's retirement resignation at their February board meeting.

Board President Dan Guasp thanked Ms. Anderson for her "18 years of dedicated service."

Her retirement will be effective on June 30.

Ms. Anderson is a math interventionist.

In other action, board members:

* Accepted the resignation of Lisa Roy as a bus driver, effective February 4.

* Named Melissa Prasad as a probationary full-time teacher aide, at a salary of $19,897, per the union contract, retroactive to January 26.

* Changed the position of Valerie Thom from full-time teacher aide to a full-time one-on-one teacher aide, effective January 26.

* Approved a leave of absence for Tara Leveski from around January 14 through approximately March 30, using a combination of paid and unpaid leave time.

* Approved a leave of absence for Megan Munzo from around February 9 through approximately May 4, using unpaid leave time.

* Approved an unpaid leave request for Cheri Bland from March 2 to 9.

* Added Jonathan Haley to the substitute list as a sub bus driver at the current sub rates.

* Added four people to the Capital Region BOCES teacher sub calling list.

* Approved a field trip for the seventh grade to Boston on June 18.

* Accepted the donation of: $40 from Robert Bonaker to the SCS Backpack Program, and $321.98 from the EPTSO to the SCS lunch fund.
