DELHI — Sheriff Craig S. DuMond announced the arrest of a Bloomville resident following a traffic stop in the Village of Delhi.
On the afternoon of February 1st, 2026, Delaware County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a vehicle with no inspection sticker traveling down Main Street in the Village of Delhi. Deputies turned on the vehicle to initiate a traffic stop, at which time the vehicle attempted to lose the Deputies. Deputies were able to stop the vehicle and subsequently identified the driver as 57-year-old David Quackenbush of Bloomville, NY. Upon further investigation it was found that Quackenbush's NYS driver’s license was expired and his driver’s license in the State of Tennessee was suspended.
Quackenbush was subsequently charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 2nd degree, a misdemeanor of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law. Quackenbush was also issued tickets for Uninspected Motor Vehicle, Speed in Zone, and Unlicensed Operation, all violations of the NYS Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Quackenbush was released on appearance tickets and uniform traffic tickets and was directed to appear in the Town of Delhi Court at a later date to answer the charges.
