STAMFORD — On Dec 17, 2025, a fire broke out at a local apartment building, in downtown Stamford. A request was sent out to churches in Emanuel County GA on behalf of these families. The Emanuel Missionary Baptist Association which comprises 23 churches sent out a request for prayers and any financial help to be sent.
The total collection for these three families totaled just over $4700.00. There is an example of similar situation happened over two thousand years ago, when the Apostle Paul on his third missionary journey stopped by serval church namely, the Churches in Corinth, Galatia, Macedonia and Achaia to aid the saints in Jerusalem due to a famine in the local area surrounding Jerusalem.
Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 16:1-3 “Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come.3 And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem.”
Paul also mentions in Romans 15:25-27 “At present, however, I am going to Jerusalem bringing aid to the saints. For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make some contribution for the poor among the saints at Jerusalem. For they were pleased to do it, and indeed they owe it to them. For if the Gentiles have come to share in their spiritual blessings, they ought also to be of service to them in material blessings.” We give praise to our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ, for this outpouring of love and compassion during this extreme time of need.
