The Greene County Senior Angels Fund provides emergency financial assistance to eligible seniors who are Greene County residents. Senior citizens who are residents of Greene County and are experiencing a financial hardship may benefit from the Senior Angels Fund. The fund provides emergency financial assistance to eligible Greene County Seniors. Monies from the fund can be used to pay for both health-related expenses, like health insurance premiums, co-pays, coinsurance and deductibles and for household expenses like rent, utility payments and transportation. Additionally the staff can help identify other resources that may be available to you. The Tannersville Food Pantry is open to all on Wednesdays from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The pantry is located by the Tannersville Firehouse. If you would like to donate non-perishable food and personal care items, donations may be brought Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Tannersville Village Hall, One Park Place, Tannersville. The Greene County Senior Nutrition Program menu for the week of May 4 – May 8 is as follows: Monday—Macaroni and cheese, roasted asparagus, coleslaw, peaches; Tuesday—Baked chicken thighs with gravy, mashed potatoes, Sonoma veggies, fruited Jell-O; Wednesday--Beef stew, broccoli, chocolate chip cookies; Thursday—Pork chop with gravy and applesauce, mashed sweet potatoes, green beans, fresh fruit; Friday—Chef’s Choice. All persons 60 and older are invited to attend. Meals served at noon, suggested $4 donation for each meal. Congregate reservations are required by noon at least a day in advance. If you reserve a meal and are unable to attend, please call as soon as you can to cancel.
