Role Boundary

Sellers remain separate from contributor pathways. Marketplace roles cannot transition into contributor roles to avoid editorial-commerce conflicts.

Operational sequence

1. Seller authorization

Complete seller agreement and role activation before listing publication.

2. Structured listing management

Publish offers with consistent metadata for search relevance and buyer clarity.

3. Fulfill and reconcile

Track order states and operation records for delivery performance and financial integrity.

How Payments & Rewards Work

1. Customer makes payment

A customer buys a subscription or marketplace items using a regular debit/credit card (Stripe handles processing). For example:

  • • $45 subscription purchase
  • • $100 marketplace order from two local businesses

We collect payment and applicable New York State sales tax under our sales tax certificate.

2. We allocate balances inside the platform

After a purchase clears:

  • USD balance → Merchant(s)
    Each merchant balance represents their share of the sale.

3. Cash-out is local and familiar

Merchants can request a same-day local bank check. Everything settles through local banking.
